You've got brown patches, red facial veins and a roughened uneven complexion. What can you do? One of the easiest procedures for eliminating multiple problems caused by sun exposure is though a series of the Candela GentleMax Photofacial treatments.

Dr. Cobos uses the new, advanced Candela GentleMax system to reverse sun damage, brown patches and unwanted spider veins, while stimulating healthy, new collagen. A step above IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), this non-ablative laser does not damage the top layer of skin - the "treatment" takes place under the epidermis.
A series of Candela GentleMax Laser treatments can offer the benefits of a medium depth laser resurfacing or chemical peel without blisters, burns or long recovery time.

Special Radiesse advantages include:
- sun damage
- flushing and redness
- rough skin texture
- broken capillaries
- brown spots and age spots
- dark circles around the eyes
- sun-induced freckles on the hands, chest, and face
- broken capillaries around the nose
- excels in helping the reduction of fine wrinkles and large pores.

How does the GentleMax Laser Photofacial work?
During treatment, laser light is absorbed only by the unwanted melanin, raising the temperature to cause shattering of the pigment. Deeper level damaged blood vessels are treated similarly with a quick switch of settings.
Shortly after treatment, the pigment cells (or melanin) have been thoroughly fragmented - without damaging the surrounding tissue. Vascular lesions (spider veins) also coagulate and shrink, many of them disappearing altogether.
In the weeks after treatment, the shattered melanin particles are eliminated by your body's own "clean up" system that absorbs the fragmented pigment. Little or no trace of the initial pigmentation spots or spidery veins remain. A GentleMax Photofacial treatment also improves skin texture through collagen stimulation. You get multiple treatment benefits through one system.

Latest Treatment Technology at our office - GentleMax
At Premiere Dermatology Dr. Cobos has chosen GentleMax -just introduced in 2007 - to treat sun damage because of its superior technology. GentleMax Laser offers a significant advance over standard Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems
Do I need to do anything special after treatments?
The only requirement is use of sun protection. Because the treatment is so gentle, there is no interruption in your normal daily activities.
What can I expect from Gentle Max treatments?
By helping to remove the age spots, sun-induced freckles and broken capillaries, you'll have overall younger looking skin. Improvement is subtle and accomplished over a series of treatments so your skin will not appear obviously treated. Heavier spider veins or red areas may need additional treatment with Vbeam laser.

The different paths to better skin
There are a variety of ways to reduce pigmentation and improve sun damage. Each patient will have a different and individualized recommendation. Your skin type will likely respond better to one type of treatment over another. Whereas GentleMax Photofacial is correct for some, your selected treatment might be Cosmelan or Fraxel or even a series of mild chemical peels.
How do I know if GentleMax Laser is what I need?
This is where having an experience makes the difference in a successful and safe treatment selection. Dr. Cobos always proceeds with the necessary caution that's required to get the best results - even if this means more frequent visits.
Your skin damage is usually acquired over a number of years or decades. The process for returning your skin to a youthful and healthy appearance may take a bit of time. It is often the careful and continued slower combination of treatments that keep your skin looking its best.
