Botox- Botox is a new concept in treating facial wrinkles in the forehead, between the eyes, and in the “crows feet” areas (upper third of the face). Botox works by weakening the muscles of facial expressions. Once the resting tones of the treated muscles are weakened, the pull on the muscles relaxes and the overlying skin flattens. BOTOX® is a formulation of botulinum toxin type A. It is derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium produces a protein that blocks the release of acetycholine and relaxes muscles.
Camouflage- Makeup Concealers are used to cover discolorations or bruising. Camouflage cosmetics tend to be thicker than regular makeup cosmetics so they can blend and hide bruising or visible incision lines. Most camouflage can be used under your regular foundation or alone.
Chemical Peels- Facial peels are used to reduce wrinkling, especially that which is associated with sun damage, acne scars, other blemishes, and areas of uneven skin pigmentation. This is achieved by either chemical (including glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, phenol), mechanical (dermabrasion, microdermabrasion) or laser applications.
Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid Filler Injection- Injectable collagen and hyaluronic acid fillers works by supplementing your body’s own natural collagen support layer. The liquid injectable filler product is injected through a small needle directly through the wrinkle, skin crease, or skin fold into the support layer just beneath the surface of the skin. The extra support provided by the filling agent raises the treated area so that the wrinkle, skin crease, or skin fold disappears or is minimized.
Dermaplaning-Using short, precise movements, an aesthetician grazes a scalpel across the face, scraping away dead cells on the surface.
Glycolic Acid Peel- After preparing the skin, a glycolic acid concentration from 20% to 70% will be applied resulting in smoother, youthful appearing skin of more uniform color. Weekly facial peels for a period of about 6 weeks are typical for most individuals.
Jessner Peel- A combination of lactic acid, salicylic acid and resorcinol, an exfoliating agent, Jessner is on the milder side of the medium peels. It doesn’t have the strength of the Obaji blue peel, but works in a similar manner, exfoliating and reaching into the dermis to stimulate collagen.
Laser Hair Removal- Lasers emit a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed. The energy from the laser is converted into heat that paralyzes the hair follicle while leaving surrounding skin unharmed. This method of hair removal eliminates 60 times the hair per treatment than electrolysis.
Laser Resurfacing- Or laser peel, laser rejuvenation, laser surgery, is the act of using carbon dioxide (CO2), erbium, pulse dye or other laser to remove wrinkles, discolorations, age spots, and sun damaged skin or stimulate the body’s fibroblasts to “grow” collagen to treat the wrinkle from within. The laser is passed over the treatment area to eradicate wrinkles around the eyes and mouth or anywhere there are unsightly lines, hyperpigmentation or blemishes.
Laser Vein Removal- Laser therapy is a safe, effective, non-surgical treatment option for the removal of spider and small varicose veins. The treatment is performed by applying the laser on the vein to be removed. Brief light pulses are delivered to the vein, causing the vessel to coagulate and subsequently be absorbed by the body.
Microdermabrasion- Aluminum oxide crystals are deposited on the skin surface under pressure, similar to mild sandblasting, and suctioned away. Dead epithelial cells on the surface of the skin and oily plugs in pores are removed. Collagen formation is stimulated by the mild, controlled injury.
Oxygen Therapy- Transporting large volumes of pure oxygen into tissues, accelerating the regeneration of skin cells. Oxygen therapy increases collagen and elastin, heals microfractures and fissures, and has anti-inflammatory effect on the skin.
TCA- This is a non-toxic chemical peel, used for more than 30 years. A TCA peel causes top layers of skin cells to dry up and peel off revealing fresher, more youthful looking skin in 5-7 days.
V-Beam Laser- Used to treat facial veins, leg veins, port wine stains, hermangioma, stretch marks, scars, rosacea and warts.
Vein Removal Sclerotherapy-, a tiny needle is used to inject the skin with a medication that results in collapsing the veins, which are then reabsorbed. Veins can be treated early, avoiding complications.
