Dr. Renee Cobos is a board certified dermatologist and has practiced dermatology in California for 19 years. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Cobos specializes in General Dermatology including the treatment of all diseases of skin, hair and nails, skin cancer surgery, Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Medicine  including cosmetic skin care and rejuvenation for the face and body,

Training and Credentials

She has extensive training in Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Medicine including the use and application of the Fraxel re:pair CO2 laser system, the Fraxel re:store laser system,the Fraxel re:f the Candela Gentle Max laser, V-Beam perfecta laser, Smooth Beam laser, IPL Fotofacials, Silk Peel Dermal Infusion, Glycolic Peels, TCA Peels, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse.

Dr. Cobos grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she graduated from the University of New Mexico. She received her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

She completed an internship in Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque and completed her three year Residency in Dermatology at the prestigious University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

While a resident, she won several awards including the Westwood Dermatology Outstanding Chief Resident award and was the Grand Prize Winner of the Jefferson Center for International Dermatology Competition in Caracas,Venezuela, for her research work in Epidermolysis Bullosa.

Dr. Cobos has authored several articles in the Dermatology literature, has written a number of chapters in major Dermatology textbooks and has given numerous dermatology presentations.

She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Dermatology at UCI Medical School and is on the active Medical Staff of St Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, California. Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Cobos served as chief of Dermatology at Kaiser Permanente for 8 years.

Dr. Cobos has served as President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Member-at-large of the Orange County Dermatology Society.

Dr. Cobos has served as a Presidential Appointee to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Advisory committee on HIV and AIDS.

Dr. Cobos acts as a referral and educational consultant ,a Physician Mentor and Preceptor for the Fraxel Laser Systems and travels internationally to speak to Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons who want to enhance their knowledge base regarding the Fraxel Laser Systems in order to maximize their patients' results.

Community Involvement

Dr. Cobos is very involved in the Orange County community

Founder of the special Transform-a-Life ™ program, Dr. Cobos invites community residents to bring to her attention those who need, but cannot afford, dermatology care. Anyone who has a condition which negatively affects their quality of life, whether from severe acne, a disfiguring birthmark, or other laser-treatable skin problem, may request consideration for treatment at no cost. Dr. Cobos is the founder of “The Day You Deserve”, a special day of complimentary beauty treatments for the models of the annual Fashion Show for the Walk Among the Stars . The models in the program are past or current patients at the Virginia K. Crosson Cancer Center at St Jude Medical Center in Fullerton,which the fashion show benefits. The models are treated to haircuts, and styles at the Joshua Christopher salon in Fullerton, then travel via limousine to Premiere Dermatology and Laser Center, the office of Dr. Cobos, where they continue their day with a catered luncheon, facials, massages, paraffin hand treaments, and makeup application by Dr. Cobos and staff. They complete their day of beauty with a glamour portrait session courtesy of Gaby Mollineaux ,owner of Fullerton Photo. All of the participants greatly enjoy the wonderful pampering day thanks to the generosity of Dr. Cobos , Premiere Dermatology and Laser Center, Joshua Christopher Salon and Fullerton Photo. These outstanding Fullerton businesses have particpated with Dr. Cobos yearly to bring a day of fun and pampering to a deserving group of patients.

 

 Dr. Cobos works closely with the American Academy of Dermatology to actively promote sun protection awareness programs for local schools including free skin cancer screenings for students and their families, and promoting and obtaining grants for sun shade structures.

Over the last 15 years, Dr. Cobos has donated her  time performing thousands of  free skin cancer screenings for local Fullerton  schools, St. Jude Hospital Physicians and Employees, city of Fullerton employees, St. Angela Merici summerfest, City of Brea Health Fair,  Donate Life OC amongst other charitable groups.

She is actively involved in the National Charity League ( Fullerton Chapter) with her daughter, Sabrina where they particpate in the Hot Meals Ministry, Meals on Wheels, Florence Crittendon home, The Muckenthaler Cultural Center amongst other local community and charitable groups.

Dr. Cobos provides free dermatology treatment for the uninsured and underinsured population of Fullerton, Ca. as a volunteer dermatologist for the St Jude Community Clinic in Fullerton.

Dr. Cobos lives in Fullerton Ca with her husband, Dr. Robert Rosenberg and their two children, Jordan and Sabrina.
