The SmoothPeel is Candela's laser alternative to a chemical peel, still one of the most commonly performed aesthetic procedures today. The SmoothPeel laser offers several treatment options - from a simple "Friday night freshening" with minimal to no downtime, all the way to a peel comparable to a full glycolic acid peel with just a few days downtime.

A safe and simple device, the gently powered SmoothPeel provides a precise and predictable superficial peel without the variables associated with mid-level acid peels.

Dr. Cobos offers Smoothpeel as a cutting edge skin refinishing procedure. Although exfoliation occurs as in microdermabrasion, the SmoothPeel goes deeper into the epidermis, making it the equivalent of a number of microdermabrasion treatments. As a chemical peel alternative, healing is faster and depth of penetration is more controlled. Energy levels are customizable and each pass of the laser removes a precise amount of tissue.

Adjustable Peel Depths for Adjustable Results

A shallow 10-micron SmoothPeel can be used to gently refresh tired skin or to prepare your skin for further procedures such as the GentleMax Photofacial. This shallow peel exposes the hyperpigmentation, making the removal of brown pigment more effective. More resistant red discoloration is easily treated with Vbeam laser.

A 50-micron peel gives a substantial resurfacing and retexturization of the skin. Along with Dr. Cobos, you can choose the peel depth and acceptable downtime in reaching your skin improvement objective.

Pre-Peel Suggestions

Refrain from use of retinoids (Retin-A, Avage, etc)
Do not use "at-home" microdermabrasion or exfoliation products
